Description

Though late to the MTB party Campagnolo brought their usual attention to detail, high quality and classic looking designs to the market when it finally happened. Euclid was released in 1989 (six years after the first dedicated Shimano group) and sat second in line in the original line up after Centaur, it was both hugely overbuilt and at the same time strangely fragile due to a number of components incorporating plastic.

The Euclid headset was no lightweight, but it did offer Campagnolo’s excellent high tolerances and good quality bearings and races, further it came with a cleverly designed, patented, brake cable stop that fits perfectly over the top nut and tightens up. Available in British or Italian thread versions (though some say they are interchangeable due to the diameter being the same, but just the thread pitch differing).

This one is complete in the original box with all of the original plastic packaging, instructions and the separate brake cable hanger, bearings are in their own special tray at the bottom. The headset cups look to have been installed and carefully removed and there is some sign the top nut has been threaded onto a fork but there are no marks on the races or the thread of the locking nut, or any of the other parts. I must assume someone put it in a frame for display or to test but changed their mind.
