Description
First appearing as part of the ‘new’ Deore XT group in 1987 this top of the range hub survived many changes in the rest of the group finally being replaced six years later with the arrival of XTR. Offering Shimano’s typical quality bearings and races these hubs can keep going for years and years, the bombproof shell and 36 hole drilling mean it would work equally well on a touring bike as an MTB.
The original rubber handled skewer is a design classic and though it is a little heavy the action is amongst the best.
