The Japanese made Dia Compe 985 brake set includes pads, straddle cables and instructions. Back in the mid 90s these were used as OEM spec on a number of high end mountain bikes due to their light weight and quality finish. They were also the upgrade brake of choice for those looking for something a bit snazzier than the Shimano or no name cantis fitted.
Equally at home on mountain as touring or cross bikes the Dia Compe 985 brakes are easy to install and set up. Judder and noise from the front brake can be reduced by using a fork mounted cable stop – available in the shop here.
