These Miche X-Light seatpost quick release levers are a decent, lightweight period upgrade for your 90s mountain bike. With a 6 mm diameter centre bolt these will fit bikes with a measurement of 28 mm or less across the lugs of the frame or seat clamp. They are also pretty useful on tandems.
