Dating from the 1980s these French made skinwall folding tyres from Michelin are a great value for money period correct option for a vintage road bike rebuild or refurbishment. Typically narrow at 20c these standard 700c clincher tyres are reinforced with flexible fibreglass beads to save weight. The skinwall finish looks great on older bikes and the minimal tread is a little easier to live with than a fully slick tyre.
I have used these myself and with certain rim combinations (specifically the Mavic MA40 and anything wide) they can be hard to get on, I would recommend stretching the tyre between your foot and your arm in the same way tubular tyres can be stretched, this allows the tyre to give a little and will help with installation.
