High end rigid forks built from legendary over-sized tubing

Description

These nicely made Columbus Max OR forks are built for a 26″ wheel and cantilever brakes and have an over-sized 1 1/8″ threaded steerer. Probably built in Italy with the legendary and hard to find tube set and with Columbus dove stamped dropouts they are the kind of thing you’d expect to find on a high-end period Italian MTB like a Cinelli The Machine or a Colnago Master. The paint is very 90s with a mottled red and black effect, I suspect that whoever wants this would have it repainted to matcha  frame though.

They are not suspension-corrected with a 395 mm axle to crown length so will suit any bike built around a rigid fork, the steerer is uncut and 175 mm long with 55 mm of threads. The 1 1/8″ threaded standard was also used on some tandems and these look burly enough to take on some off road tandeming if you were brave enough.

Though unused there are some signs of shop wear and some light surface corrosion on the unprotected steerer, they’ve been open to the elements for 30 odd years so that’s to be expected.
