Description
Nicely finished indexed Suntour GPX mini drivetrain groupset comprising front and rear mechs and shifters from 1988. GPX was middle of the range, sat below the top end Superbe Pro and Sprint groupsets. The blue/grey finish looks great and is something a little different, Suntour components from this period were, in our opinion the best available. Introduced in 1989 and available until the 1991 model year GPX was another fairly short-lived group.
This mini drivetrain group will work with a standard 6 speed Suntour Accushift freewheel, or a narrow ‘Ultra’ 7 speed Suntour Accushift freewheel. The shifters can also switch to friction too so you could use any number of gears in theory. The front mech is designed for a double and is a clamp-on/band-on unit. The rear mech is a short cage but will go up to a 26 tooth large cog (and should be fine with a 28 if set up correctly).
One set has the original box for the rear mech, the other does not, also included are a couple of inner cables and a section of Suntour Accushift outer cable, we have some freewheels and chains to get you running too.
Please note: You will need a standard spaced 6 speed Accushift Suntour freewheel or an ‘Ultra’ narrow spaced 7 speed freewheel for it all to index nicely.
