Wilderness Trail Bikes were responsible for some of the best and well thought through mountain bike designs throughout the 1980s and 90s, one of the greatest being the ‘Grease Guard’ system whereby bearing in hubs, bottom brackets and headsets can be lubricated without pulling the bike apart. Grease Guard was licensed to the mighty Suntour but was still produced by WTB into the late 90s.
The Momentum group of components was introduced in 1995 as a better value for money alternative to some of their higher priced, more work intensive products and offered the same design nous with a lower quality finish at a more affordable price. This front hub is from that first generation of Momentum parts and features the grease Guard system, the machined hub shell and quality bearings.
