Hard to find Tange JIS race headset for 27.0 mm crown race forks, nicely finished with quality Japanese made cups and bearings. The CDS model is fairly basic with loose bearings but is easily serviceable and looks the part thanks to it’s chrome finish.
Though less common than their ISO cousin, JIS sized crown races were used for many years by a number of Japanese manufacturers, if you’ve ever struggled to get a standard 1″ crown race onto a fork chances are it was a JIS fork! Though the crown race can be cut down to ISO size it will likely be expensive, and modern bike shops don’t carry the tools.
