Description
An early aerodynamic effort from Shimano this 600AX hub features rounded dust covers over the cones and notched in pairs of spoke holes for saving vital seconds. Introduced in 1981 and available for a couple of years the AX aerodynamic groups looked astonishing at the time (consider a Campagnolo groupset of the same period which looked the same as it did 15 years earlier) and maybe offered a tiny amount of advantage. Maybe.
This hub is NOS and unused but the dust covers have discoloured slightly and the stocker with the model number from the centre of the hub has peeled off!
