Description
These blue grey Suntour GPX downtube shifters came at a time when friction shifting was giving way to indexing. Capable of being switched from a friction mode to two ‘Accushift’ indexed modes: Standard 6 speed indexed (will also work with Shimano 6 speed indexed derailleurs and cogs I believe) and Ultra 7 speed which is designed to work with Suntour’s Ultra Narrow Accushift specific 7 speed freewheel.
Released in 1989 the GPX group sat below Superbe Pro and Sprint 9000, but above Ole, Sprint and Blaze and came at a time when Suntour offered the highest quality, lightest, best functioning bike parts available.
