Description
Hard to find Ofmega Mistral mini drivetrain groupset comprising lightweight front and rear derailleurs and shifters and built from ‘composite’ (plastic). The Mistral group was an innovative attempt by Ofmega to utilise some of the technology of composite materials (high grade plastics) to make a lightweight and striking groupset. Known for being available in a range of colours including pink, yellow and blue, the Mistral groupset was available in a couple of iterations through the 1980s after the rear mech was released somewhere around 1982. Despite the brittle reputation of plastic, failures are rare for these though the colours can fade in UV light.
This mini groupset comprises a pair of band-on first generation downtube shifters, a clamp-on front mech without the Mistral branding and a second generation rear mech, all in black. It also comes with a large Ofmega sticker. Though the shifters and rear mech are from differing generations the groupset as a whole will work together nicely in terms of form and function!
