Description
This hefty lump of stem architecture was all the rage in the mid 80s and was found OEM on quite a few early production MTBs and ATBs. With a BMX influenced design the stem has two clamps for 22.2 mm bars and a cable stop for a front brake. Often these were found in a smaller 21.1 quill diameter for lower end bikes but this one is a 22.2 for standard 1” threaded headsets and steerers.
I think you could get away with using a standard MTB bar with a bulge in the middle if the bulge was short enough to fit between the clamps.
Like all of our parts this is new old stock but has picked up some marks and corrosion over the years as pictured.
