Description
The Suntour Alpha freewheel was one of the early Suntour Accushift freewheels that worked with their new indexing system. Over the years the Accushift system got updated and over-complicated with models not being cross compatible, but at six speed the indexing worked across the board as far as the freewheels and chains were concerned.
This freewheel has a decent range of 14 to 28 teeth and and will of course work with any friction shifter too, it will work with a medium or long cage mech, depending on the set up. The date code on this is 1987 which means it is ideal for use with one of the early indexed MTB grouppos such as XC 9000 or XC Sport 7000 or one of the new indexed road groups such as Superbe Pro, Sprint 9000 or Cyclone 7000.
