Description

The Suntour XCD 4050 rollercam was the mass produced, budget version of the powerful and short-lived Charlie Cunningham designed brake. Genuine Cunningham or WTB made brakes tend to sell for 15 to 20 times more than this one, but the idea is the same, and whilst this is a little more crude and has some Suntour designed ‘improvements’ the spirit is there. Obviously your frame or fork must be designed for these brakes, they fit in the same place as a ‘U brake’ but will not work with normal cantilever brake bosses as they will sit too low.

With a wide, shaped cam plate, and a spring at the top of the arms (as opposed to behind the arms on the originals) these are still nicely made as you’d expect from Suntour, and come complete with some nice steel backed pads, some mounting bolts and even a pair of braze-ons, should you wish to go for a full modification! For some reason Suntour refer to these as a ‘Brake Arch’.
