Description
Wonderfully designed early 80s Shimano Deore DE10 rear derailleur from the first Deore group, designed for touring bikes and utilising some parts from the 600EX road group. The group was released in 1982 (Deer Head M700 only came out in 1983) and because of it’s ability to deal with wide range of gears the group was used on some of the earliest mountain bikes. This mid-cage length derailleur could be used with up to a 30 tooth rear sprocket and like all early 1980s Shimano parts is impeccably designed and has a really nice quality finish, I also personally think the logo on the Shimano Deore DE10 rear mech is the nicest Shimano produced!
Would well with a flat bar touring set up or the designated ‘Centeron’ downtube shifters – which are in stock here.
- Wide range rear Touring derailleur used on early MTBs
- 6 speed friction compatible (will work with 5, 7 and 8 too)
- Model RD-DE10
- Introduced in 1982
