Description

Hard to find Shimano Deore XT BioPace outer chainring from 1990, putting it in the M735 series of parts and still the top of the range off road group. BioPace was designed to offer the rider a more effective pedal stroke, it was reasonably short lived but came back with a vengeance in the mid 2000s when the bike industry had run out of new things to invent. The oval chainrings supposedly put more power into the top part of the pedal stroke thus making you faster and/or making it easier.

These rings are stamped with a 1990 date code and the decal is the same as can be found in the 1990 catalogue, we have some more of these from other years as they were offered in an array of finishes and with lots of different decals, even though the M730 chainset they sat on had stayed the same for about 20 years. The shiny finish is really nice and probably keeps them cleaner for longer.
