Description
The late 70s, early 80s period of parts from Suntour is probably the best, and this light weight, long cage rear example is no exception. Built mostly from aluminium this was a derailleur that worked well over a wide range cluster (up to 34 teeth at the rear) but weighing only 215 grams. This one is date stamped 1979 and due to their robustness these mechs were also used by early MTB riders into the early 80s despite the introduction of specific off road mechs. One neat feature is the open cage that allows the chain to be taken out of the mech without breaking it.
