Description
An impeccably designed headset, the Tioga HighRoller combines lightweight aluminium cups with a taper bearing on the bottom and a standard bearing race at the top. Designed to cut down on ‘shimmy’ and prevent the threaded headset working loose this was a really well thought out piece of kit. Made in Japan by Tange to a very high standard this has the clear anodised finish you’d expect to find on XTR, and the attention to detail that marks it out as a very nice bit of kit indeed.
The top headset race is drilled to save weight, the tabbed locking spacer nestles inside the top nut to reduce the stack height and the overall finish is really, really good. I’m a big fan, can you tell?
This is ‘Over-size’ which means for 1 1/8″ threaded steerers, I think it dates from 1993, possibly earlier though it isn’t in the 1992 catalogue.
