Description
Wonderful Shimano XT HP-M736 1 1/8″ threaded headset from the eight speed generation of Deore XT in a classy black finish that will provide a lifetime of service. Introduced in 1992 with the M735 generation of Deore XT components this headset has no nonsense replaceable bearings, steel cups for durability and an aluminium lock ring to save weight.
The 1 1/8″ threaded size was fairly short lived as manufacturers switched from 1″ just before the advent of the threadless headset, it is however used by Brompton still and this headset will offer a higher quality, better looking solution for those who want to add a bit of retro to their Brompton. Please note, you may have to add 1mm of shim below the crown race so the headset clears the fork catch, I have been using one like this for over 6 months without any problems.
